...share some pointers on healthy conversations

...support one another in becoming "Missional"

These Geographical Area Meetings are for EVERYONE...that means EVERYONE!

We will be meeting in Selma at the First Christian Church on Thursday August 12th from 6-8:30 pm.

Prayer Quilt Ministry

We have a large number of quilts ready to be prayed over as the knots are tied.  If you know of someone in need of prayer and comfort, please give your request to Jan Kovars or call her at 784-5482.

Edu-Worship

Edu-Worship would like to ring in the old AND the new in 2010. We would like to tell you that you are never too young and never too old to go to Sunday School!!! We have some wonderful teachers that are eager to teach you about the Bible!!! Lisa teaches the nursery/preschool and junior church. She also would like to teach Sunday school if there were children coming at that time. Make a point to ask one of the kids from her junior church what they learned that day. They love to tell you! We have classes for all ages at 9:30 every Sunday. Why not adopt a child or teenager or even an adult that you know and make a point of bringing them to Sunday school. I started coming to this church because a member was bringing my children here. Get the children here and the parents will follow! Chris Garcia teaches adult Sunday school. I recently began attending and am enjoying it very much. We are never too old to go to Sunday school! See you there.

La Iglesia Del Pueblo is Alive and Growing!

"La Iglesia del Pueblo"  is growing and expanding their program.  Pastor Kilo Hernandez is currently planning a second worship service for Saturday evenings that will have a Mexican style, but will be conducted entirely in English.  Pastor Kilo has talked to a number of young people who are more comfortable with their English than with Spanish who are looking for a new expression of worship.  If this describes you, talk to Pastor Kilo for details!

Nursery/Junior Church

The Nursery/Junior Church has been going great. The number of kids coming on a regular basis has been exponentially increasing, which is great. We recently learned about when Jesus told the rich young man to sell your possessions and give to the poor, and the young man did so. It was an interesting lesson for that Sunday, because it came after the fire that devastated Rudy and Jessica's family. And, of course one child said "don't worry Miss Lisa, I am going to give them some of my toys because they don't have any and I have too much."

Since the weather is warmer, the children have been asking to go outside more often, so if you find yourself with an excess of outside toys (e.g., big wheel bikes, balls, sidewalk chalk, etc) donations would be greatly appreciated.
