are a congregation affiliated with the
Disciples of Christ, the oldest native mainline denomination in America.
While we never claim to the be only Christians, we do want to be Christians
only.
We are a friendly congregation and would really love to have you drop by for a visit. We have found that most people who visit find something they have been looking for... an authentic group of Christians who love the Lord and His Word, people who are willing to ask questions and search for answers that make sense, an inviting place where you can feel at home, a group of folks who know how to be "folks."

Family discovers real jewel in Porterville
As a traveling health care family, we wanted to let the people of Porterville know how much we have enjoyed this area: the Sequoia National Forest, Lake Success, the beautiful fruit and olive trees, the gorgeous weather.
There is another gem in town that we would like to recommend, the First Christian Church on Prospect Street. This mainline Protestant church welcomed us with open arms, a thoughtful gift bag and a visit from their pastor, the Rev. Joe Gentzler. He is a gifted speaker, able to keep your interest, and the right pastor for this church. Sunday church service is filled with music, good wishes, the beauty of communion and an uplifting message.
Unfortunately, we will be moving on soon but wanted to take this opportunity to raise awareness of this fantastic church for young and old alike.
